After visiting most Islands in the Pacific it became glaringly - TopicsExpress

After visiting most Islands in the Pacific it became glaringly obvious to Pacific Aid Australia that one of the biggest environmental problems common to all Islands is waste management. Logical: small pieces of land in the middle of sprawling oceans and all islands utterly dependant on imports. This means lots of packaging and consumer goods with an end life to be disposed of. Several Islands like Tuvalu, Kiribati, Marshall Islands and some islands in PNG are quite simply flat coral atolls - they cant dig a hole deep enough for the waste generated on island to be disposed of. The next series of photo albums will show the level of scrap metal waste on various Pacific Islands.
