After watching my dad pass in 2007, I developed a concept I try to use to keep me in check at all times in my own life. I call it the death bed moment. Most of us, being the flawed humans we are, have much ambition to improve ourselves. However, I am convinced that only once we experience great turmoil and suffering to we really realize those things we wished we had done more of. The things we often see in our day to day life as being important all fade and become clear in a time of crisis. For those who have yet to either experiencing seeing suffering or have not suffered themselves, I feel empathy for. Though I would never wish bad on anyone. There is a magnitude of goodness and awareness that comes from our trial and tribulations. And while many may ask, why does God let there be suffering, I must admit...there is nothing that quite brings unity and awareness of God and that which is beyond ourselves like enduring a struggle. In that, we become humble and once we truly realize we have nothing to lose, feel free enough in ourselves to accept life on its own terms and fully use it to the best of our capacities. Admittedly, Im not the biggest fan of insightful rants but I felt compelled to share this...
