Alderney Lifeboat launched to assist Wildlife Trust Volunteers The Alderney RNLI Trent class lifeboat Roy Barker I launched at 19.25 last night (Friday) to assist a motor vessel that was experiencing engine failure. The 33-ft Alderney wildlife trust vessel Sula was drifting past the island of Burhou, 2.5 miles west of Alderney with 8 persons onboard. The locally based vessel was en route back to Braye after a routine trip to conduct a survey of the area. The lifeboat and her volunteer crew were on scene at 19.34, a line was transferred over from a local fishing vessel Free Spirit which had already established a tow. Both boats were secure on moorings in Braye Harbour by 20.14 Alderney Wildlife Trust said We are extremely grateful for the speed in which the lifeboat was on scene and for the care and efficiency given in getting us back to Braye Harbour ENDS
