Alice and I just got home last night from a short term mission trip to the Dominican Republic. We were part of a 6 member team from the Northwest Baptist Association. This is the 5th year the NWBA has sponsored mission trips to the DR. There is no evangelical mission work going on in this area of the DR. The NWBA provides the only Baptist missionary work there. There is many opportunities for mission teams to minister in the Northwest part of the DR. All of the Southern Baptist work done in the DR is in the Central and Southern part of the country around Santiago and Santa Domingo. We had an exciting and successful mission trip this year. We taught ESL in the High School, held evangelistic meetings and discipleship training. Evangelism and Discipleship are needed very badly in this area.
