Allman Brothers-Hoochie Coochie Man-1970 This is the last Saturday night Berry Oakley spent on earth,1972. Just a little more than 1 yr after Duane was killed, just a few blocks away. Both on motorcycles. Berry is singing lead, and he is a son of a gun! By far my favorite bass player ever! What I wouldnt give to hear tapes of Duane, Berry and Jaimoe in the studio when they first got together, and no other musician dared step in the room and Try to join in. They were inventing stuff! The grateful dead I just played a couple of days before in the city and we all saw Jerry Garcia sitting up on the hill behind the stage. One of the best things about the show was the fact I was turning all my new friends I had made on to the Allman Brothers band, for they had never heard them before. They became one of us immediately.
