Alright! Here comes the video. You guys are up next. Sushma Barakoti Sameer M. Acharya Dixit Brazesh Khanal Punit Baral Samragyee Bhandari Guys you have 24 hours! :) #ALSIceBucketChallenge #StrikeOutALS And for the ones who are cynical about this movement, asking me if Nepal needs to do this. I wanna say that there’s a white and black side to every story. It’s impossible to consider a single work correct in its entirety. #IceBucketChallenge ‘s main purpose is to bring awareness among people about a deadly disease called Lou Gehrig’s Disease , ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells of the brain & spinal cord and eventually leads to death. I am pretty sure many of us before this frenzy weren’t even aware of the existence of this disease. A serious appeal or a muted requisition wouldn’t have showered this huge amount of donation and knowledge epidemic around the world compared to what this “silly” act has been able to do. Today’s world is highly influenced by abnormalcies and social media; come together, this is a good example of how information can be spread to people, over the world, who’re so bored of redundancy. I see nothing wrong in it. Also hadn’t there been this challenge, there’d still be ways people have poured that bucket of water, if it’s to be considered a waste anyways. Imagine how much you waste when you take shower? So lets not consider it a waste rather utilization for a good cause. And about the donation, there is no pressure. Donate to the cause you feel more connected to, be it ALS or the flood victims in Nepal or like we do, our hospital. Come on, have a heart :)
