Alright. I know I do this a lot and its kind of ridiculous since, due to lack of time and lack of energy, I am unable to really participate in the community and give back in equal measure. My excuse, and I think its a pretty good one, is that I truly am trying to give to my kids, who are awesome and will grow up to be amazing human beings who will also give back. That being said, this is whats going on. When I came back from Wisconsin, I found that my kids and I were not allowed to perform for the fall play on our stage because a community theater was given a contract for our space during the exact time I requested it. Its a long story and if I talk about it, it will just make me angry and outraged and all that nonsense all over again. So, because I am awesome and the Culinary Arts Department at our school is awesome and Sarah McGregor from the Portland Playhouse is awesome and Melissa Layman from Rivermaiden is awesome and my old boss, Travis Boeh, is awesome, we are now doing our play at Mcloughlin Middle School It is going to be DESSERT THEATER!!!!! We are calling this fantastic, beautiful experience CAKESPEARE!!!! We are going to be performing Much Ado About Nothing in the Mcloughlin Middle School Cafeteria. Tickets will be ten dollars and at intermission we will be serving cupcakes and sundry desserts created by the Culinary Art students at our school and also RIVERMAIDEN STUMPTOWN coffee because Melissa and Aaron are extraordinary human beings who want to help me and my kids. This is what I am asking. If you are artists or make crafts or have some special skill, I would be so grateful if you could donate it to us. We are going to be doing a silent art auction. This was our big money maker last year. I know its a lot to ask, and I ask a lot, but please remember that Im not asking for myself, Im asking for my kids.You are wonderful, awesome. xoxoxoxo
