Although my mind is on another marathon today, & of a certain one year anniversary, it gave me a lift to see a few of these images in the recent Time magazine post. Last weekends N. Korean Marathon was opened to foreign amateurs for the 1st time... I wish this had happened more than a decade ago when I lived just south of there... encouraging nonetheless to see running, especially the marathon [although mostly orchestrated], penetrating further into communities across the world. Providing an opportunity...the distance...a finish line... strength to prevail. Appropriate for today, I think.
