An Italian brain surgeon had a heart attack in the middle of an operation. He powered through it when he realized his patient would never recover if he stopped. ------------------------------- Imagine a surgeon operating on your brain and then suffers a heart attack in the middle of it…Well, this is what befell one brain surgeon from Italy but he was determined not to stop midway since this would have turned his patient into a vegetable. Doctor Claudio Vitale, 59, started experiencing chest pains in the middle of an operation to remove a tumor. His condition deteriorated and his colleagues urged him to stop the surgical procedure, but he flatly refused, despite the fact that he himself needed immediate treatment. After completing the surgery, Dr. Vitale underwent a procedure known as angioplastry which confirmed an angina attack – a heart condition characterized by reduced oxygen flow to the heart. Speaking later on, the unsung hero refused to be called so, saying it was impossible to leave the patient and that he was just doing his job. The good news is, the surgeon will be back to work following a recovery break. If only everyone had such passionate work ethic…Hats off!
