An actual example from how one of my clients got her eating on - TopicsExpress

An actual example from how one of my clients got her eating on track this week: She had been relying on negative motivation, saying to herself, “I should eat well because I don’t want my jeans to be tight.” The result was staying on track for a few days, but eventually giving into, “I don’t care”, and eating the junk that was available. Do you hear the SHOULD and the DON’T? This motivation is external, based on what culture says we are supposed to do. This rarely lasts. I asked her to go deeper, and tap into what she really wanted. Her answer was “Energy and Clarity”. This week, she was travelling and had the opportunity to mindlessly snack on foods that give her the brain fog and make her feel tired. She DOES want better energy and more clarity, feels an internal pull to create it, and therefore was far less likely to say, “I don’t care.” She practiced moderation, felt great, and is set up for another great week. Big win! A healthy lifestyle is not built on rules, discipline, or psyching yourself up based on an external trigger. A healthy lifestyle is built by feeling called to act on something positive that deeply matters to you. What inspires you to take good care of your body?
