An epic battle between two super-powers this weekend. Well, not - TopicsExpress

An epic battle between two super-powers this weekend. Well, not really, but Team Bangor took a rusty and rented mini-bus to Brewer to take them on in a Brewer Days challenge. On the way they were stopped by the Brewer Police Department in some type of game changing shenanigans (not really, Brewer Police could not catch the bus). In any event, it appears that Team Brewer beat our Team Bangor at Xtreme Adventures in the town that means business. I present to you several photographs of the ropes course where Brandon Gold Bond Vafiades of the Bangor Police Department put on a display of courage and confidence. Behind him awaiting his turn at flexing his pipes in an event worthy of a centerfold appearance in the new Bangor Fire Department calender is Bangors own Andrew just throw water on it Emery. It mattered not, even with these two ringers, Brewer won the event in what I heard was a tie breaking, pin the tail on the donkey challenge (or something like that). Depicted in the Team Bangor photo are Officer Brandon Gold Bond Vafiades, Councilor Plourde, Councilor Graham, Tracy Willette of the Parks and Rec Department, Tanya Emery of Community and Economic Development, Bangor Firefighter Andy just throw water on it Emery and Jason Bird of the Community and Economic Development Department. Also connected is a photo of the Brewer team with our Bangor losers. Special thanks to Mary M. a kind and good hearted E. R. nurse for taking the photos and being prepared the casualties that never occurred. Team Brewer showed a kind compassion for our loss by offering the shirts off their backs, to be worn at an event in the future. All fun for the sister cities. Thank you Brewer for hosting this event and allowing us to cross the Penobscot River boundary to compete. The cheers from the rusted and rented mini-bus were muted on the way back to Bangor. It was said that Councilor Graham did try to start a cheer about getting them next year but Councilor Plourde told him to be silent on the ride home. This is not confirmed and hopefully will not spill into future, more important matters. Thanks Brewer and congratulations on the win! We will be here!
