An exciting new initiative for Pacific parents is about to be - TopicsExpress

An exciting new initiative for Pacific parents is about to be launched by Pacific Heartbeat, the Heart Foundation and Wellington startup Social Code. Called ‘Kai Town’ it is an online community for Pacific parents who are committed to raising happy and healthy kids. The pilot project, which is funded by the Ministry of Health, was developed in response to seeing how many younger Pacific people enjoy connecting online. Kai Town is an opportunity for them to find a place to team up and share with other Pacific parents in a similar situation. The focus of Kai Town is on simple changes that we can all make to help our kids eat a little healthier. Kai Town was designed to be a place to have conversations, connect, get tips and ideas, try out some healthier changes and get support from other Pacific parents who are trying to raise happy, well-nourished kids. We would like you to help spread the word to the Pacific families you work with about Kai Town (kaitown.co.nz), and sign up to the Facebook page. For more information, please contact Mafi Funaki-Tahifote.
