Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.” (2 Kings 9: 12, 13). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.In our Focal Scripture, Jehu announced that he had become the King of Israel. He declared Gods word that was spoken to him by the prophet. Jehu didnt announce who he was in the past; he announced who God had made him become; he announced God’s word concerning him.After he announced that God had made him King of Israel, the captains removed their garments and honoured Jehu as King. Jehu said who he was, and people around him treated him accordingly; he declared Gods word concerning him, and he was treated according to his declaration.Friend, say who you are. Declare God’s word concerning you and circumstances will bow to you; declare what God says you are, not what your situations say; let your confessions and declarations be in line with God’s word concerning you, not according to the opinions of men concerning you; derive your identity from God’s word over your life, and declare it.Keep confessing and declaring God’s word concerning you, no matter what happens to the contrary. Don’t allow negative circumstances to define you wrongly; don’t allow the opinion of men to affect your confession. Who you are is about who God says you are, so keep saying it.The nation of Israel wasnt aware that Jehu had become King, but he kept saying it, and later reigned over the kingdom. Keep saying what God has said concerning you, even if it is yet to manifest; one day, it will manifest.Whatever you say concerning yourself will determine what will bow or not bow to you.
