The name “Santa Claus” may not be in the Bible, but what he - TopicsExpress

The name “Santa Claus” may not be in the Bible, but what he stands for certainly is! The very epitome of Gods Holy Word is filled with Love, Joy, Peace, Happiness and Good Will toward all men! Isnt that what Santa Claus represents? Think of all the passages and verses that exemplify what Santa Claus emulates (I will paraphrase): Do unto others as you yourself would have done unto you, It is better to give than to receive, etcetera! There is a “Santa Claus” connection to the Bible: Of course, while Santa Claus is not directly found in the Bible, your mind probably conjures up an instant image of an old, white-bearded, obese man in a red and white suit. But that concept is a fairly recent invention. You may not know that in the 1800s, Santa Claus appeared young and elf like in many illustrations. And: his name was applicable to the geographic area you found yourself in, such as the also popular “Saint Nicholas” which denotes him as a Christian entity! It was about that time he became known as “Kris Kringle” in the mid and northern Europe countries. Lets take a look at a few Bible verses related to Santa Claus from the King James Version (KJV) Bible (by Relevance) James 1:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning! Colossians 3:9-10 - Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man (GOD) with his deeds! Jeremiah 10:2-4 - Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. (Christmas for us reveals all the signs God gave us from Heaven about the birth of HIS Son. Including hundreds of Christmas Carols)! Matthew 28:18 - And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (The very fact that Santa Claus is emulating Christ Jesus to a measurable extent is proof that God approves of what he is doing. Otherwise, the idea of Santa Claus would have fallen away many, many decades ago)! Zechariah 2:6 - Ho, ho, [come forth], and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. (Santa Claus is best known for his famous greeting: Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas)! Isaiah 63:2 - Wherefore [art thou] red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? Isaiah 14:13 - For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt the throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north! (Santa Claus is reported to “Fly into the Heavens sometimes reaching all the way up to the stars!) (Isnt that where we regard the throne of GOD to be?) Proverbs 15:3 - The eyes of the LORD [are] in every place, beholding the evil and the good. (He sees you when you sleep, he knows when youre awake, he knows when youve been bad or good!) Revelation 1:14 - His head and [his] hairs [were] white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes [were] as a flame of fire! (Does this really need to be explained in correlation between Jesus and Santa Claus?) Ephesians 2:2 - Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children! Luke 1:37 - For with God nothing shall be impossible. Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Don’t get me wrong. You won’t find the words “Santa Claus” on any page of Scripture. And no, you won’t find a single mention of “Saint Nicholas or Saint Nick” in the Bible. Yes, maybe some of this would be called conjecture if we were being Legalistic, but that is not what God called us to be now is it? Yet, there is a connection, a commonality, between SANTA CLAUS and the Son of God! Well, at least, indirectly! Santa Claus is a very well know “Christmas” icon, but did you know that his name was originally “Kris Kringle”? And: The name “Kris Kringle” actually derives from the German term “Christkindl,” which translates to: believe it or not, the “Christ child!” “Christkindl” dates back to the days of Martin Luther, the religious leader who sought his own version of who, and what, “Christkindl” was. Martin Luther did quite a lot for the beginning history of our modern “Christmas” celebration! He even began the use of a fresh evergreen tree inside of the home, decorated with candles and a star on the top as a way to praise our Lord God Almighty for the birth of our Lord and Savior, the Emmanuel, Christ Jesus by giving a direct, visual, connection to the Baby Jesus by the Star atop the tree! Just like the one written about in the Bible! And a star shone brightly over the stable both day and night! “It’s astonishing that the name of Jesus Christ, whom most people refer to as “the Christ child” “Emmanuel (God is with us)”, has morphed over the years and united with a fictional character known as; “Saint Nicholas”, “Kris Kringle”, and finally into a world wide description known as “Santa Claus”! No, there is no Biblical proof that our God, “Jehovah Jireh” (God is our provider), ever used HIS Mercy and Grace to provide all of us on this earth with a figure that specifically emulated HIS Son, Christ Jesus, without him ever becoming a deity. Hes just a Fat Old Fellow in a Red and White Suit that has only a couple of things attributed to him: “Peace on Earth & Good Will Toward All Mankind” and Freely spreading Love by the giving of Gifts (done so in anonymity by means of using only his name; SANTA)! “MERRY CHRISTMAS” and “May God be with us all while our Lord, Christ Jesus, brings Peace on earth to Everyone”! AMEN
