And then the fire trucks! And the ambulance! And more cops! Evidently they called the chopper all the way out from Napa. So the story is that supposedly somebody a Hispanic male downtown tried to hit an officer or accidentally winged an officer while trying to get away with their truck. Of course they are calling it an assault on an officer, but that could be anything from practically nothing to very serious. Its funny when somebody does something to a cop or the cops decide something is serious and they need to have a huge showing of testosterone and prove that they are doing something cops come from miles and miles around. But if you really need a cop you probably will get better service calling a crackhead. Just thinking of that lovely flyer that was put out for the Vallejo police rally today. Anyway, it was indeed a high speed chase and a manhunt of epic proportions. And it seems they caught the guy so all is safe in Palo Alto. And it also seems that no one got shot or killed which is always a boon! I didnt take that many pictures because I felt uncomfortable doing so. I just snapped a couple before they started showing up en mass! All together over the course of the last couple of hours I counted 12 police cars, a couple of those big ass SUVs a helicopter, two fire trucks, and an ambulance! And now I can attempt sleep again because, ah quiet! (except for the machismo of the cops zooming off into the night.) I wonder if I called 911 right now if one of the guys up the block would come on over or if Id have to wait 6 hours for them to finish their paperwork and get dispatched. Me a cynic. No way!
