Ann Parker Turner passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at age 68 of complications from Psoriatic Arthritis Mutilans. A long-time Atlanta advertising executive, Ann enjoyed working with some of the icons of the Atlanta ad scene such as Cot Campbell, Ron Scharbo, and Hugh Wilson, to name a few. Her career on the agency side of the business was interrupted when she was hired to manage advertising, as well as sports marketing, for Bell South Mobility. Ann was a 1996 recipient of the BellSouth Mobility Excalibur Award for initiating and supervising production of 1996 Olympic campaign used by BellSouth Mobility markets throughout the country. After 5 years at Bell South Mobility, Ann finished her career back on the agency side, serving as Senior Account Executive for Publicis handling the southeast division of Sprint PCS. Ann’s career account list included a variety of diverse industries including Northside Hospital, Kimberly-Clark, National Tire Wholesale, Holiday Inn, and Sprint. Ann was born March 8, 1946 in Marietta, Georgia and attended Marietta High School. Ann is predeceased by her parents Elizabeth Jewell (Mitchell) Parker and Eugene Robinson Parker, longtime residents of Marietta, GA, her first husband and father to her two children, Jackie Lee Turner, and her step daughter Shannon McCoy of Atlanta. Ann is survived by her husband, Matthew McCoy of Brookhaven, GA, her daughter Alyson (Turner) Stewart (Dan Stewart), son Jason Turner (Sharilyn Turner), as well as two step children, Erin (McCoy) Sjostrom and Matthew McCoy, III, six grandchildren: Maggie Sjostrom, Will Sjostrom, Lauren Turner, Owen Turner, Hugh Stewart and Cole Stewart, as well as siblings Michael Parker, Carol O’Quinn and Tom Parker and innumerable cousins, nieces and nephews. Ann’s grandchildren were the joy of her life and she moved heaven and earth to spend her time with them. Her granddaughter Lauren Turner has Cystic Fibrosis. Ann requested in lieu of flowers, donations be given in Lauren’s name to the Georgia chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis foundation at 2302 Parkway Drive, Suite 210 Atlanta, GA 30345. cff.org/chapters/georgia/ The family would like to thank Ann’s good friends and neighbors, Celeste Aguado, Carol Adams and Norma Evans, all of whom were a great help to her during recent surgeries. They each dedicated a large amount of their time to her care, comfort and comic relief. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 13th at First Baptist Church of Marietta located at 148 Church Street, Marietta, GA 30060 at 2pm ET.
