Announcing the launch of the prestigious Bristol Then & Now photography competition! We have decided to launch a new incentive for our members to take their cameras outside and try to recreate up to date versions of old photographs of Bristol. This is only for fun, but we will be awarding Photo of the Week for the best one and they will be added to a special folder. We do realise that not all our members can take part, but we hope that those who cant will enjoy looking at the photos of those who can. We dont want to impose too many rules, but obviously you need to make sure you have the relevant permission to post the then picture and the now picture must be your own original photo and not taken from google or anyone elses work. As not everyone will be able to take part there wont be a monetary prize (sorry) but you will be able to glow with pride at having your T&N photo awarded this coveted honour and we admins will also try to cobble together some kind of certificate for the winners :) The first award winner will be announced on Thursday 24th April (time to be announced) and we need to have all submissions by 10pm on Wednesday 23rd April. Each entry should be posted on the group wall and marked competition so we know which ones we are looking at and the award will go to the one that is judged to be the best by all the admin members. Of course we will be influenced by the number of likes given by our members and the usual bribes of beer for the boys and gin for me ;) Good luck and get snapping! James, Myk, Nick, Lesley and Indy
