Another intruder entered my fair little home today - a canyon wren (Catherpes mexicanus) that hopped through my barely-open door that I had cracked about 4 inches wide to allow for a bit of air flow. Apparently everything wants to come inside if I allow them the opportunity, including these insect-feeding wrens that explore every crevice they can find in search of food. The little bird evacuated its bowels in four different places during this photo session. I of course had every intention of opening the door wide and allowing it to fly out, but not before it had its portrait taken. That is the price of admission, critters. ;-)
