Answering my own Beatles or Stones? question: If you had asked me 20 years ago, I would have said Stones. No question. Discovered them in middle school. Saw the Steel Wheels tour in high school. Hugely influential. But I jumped on the Beatles train around the time the Anthology series came out in the late 90s and I havent looked back. While I still love the Stones, the Beatles are more layered, in both melody and meaning. So while Ill always be a huge Stones fan, if you ask me today I gotta go Beatles.
