Anthropocentrism is the belief that everything on earth was made - TopicsExpress

Anthropocentrism is the belief that everything on earth was made for mankind. That man is on top of the ecosystem, and that everything was put here for him. Angelo Saxton Protestants brought this paradigm to America. Consuming everything in their path. Slaughtering the Savage native Americans, and raping their women. Everything is put here for me! God said, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. Christianity fuels Anthropocentrism and we havent broken the cycle since. This is why America consumes 1/3 of the earth resources, wasting billions annually; because this paradigm has been ingrained in us since our forefathers brought it here when they founded this country. Dissimilarly, Native Americans believed in Animism. The belief that every organism is interconnected with one another. That we must give back what we have taken, and respect the land. It took us hundreds of years and a multitude of anthropogenic environmental devastations for us to realize this. Atheists - 1 Christians - 0
