Anybody who REALLY knows me knows I am a baseball fan through and through. Its the purest team sport on earth. But, for the life of me, in a world where there are a trillion other necessities infinitely more important, I need someone to explain why Turner Field REALLY needs to be replaced. And, help me understand why, in a supposed democratic society, Cobb County taxpayers were not given a choice (i.e., a VOTE) as to whether or not our monies would be obligated to erect such an overwhelming superstructure in the heart of literally one of the most congested interchanges in the United States. I just hit the ground in Atlanta after being away for a few weeks. Please tell me Ive got this story wrong. Because, if Im right, Ill be making plans now to prevent myself from what will most surely become 4.5 hour commutes from Atlanta into North Cobb.
