Anyone that enjoys outdoor concerts, folk style gospel music, fellowship and delicious BBQ will enjoy Mt. Olivet’s “End of Summer Gathering” event. This special, family-friendly event will be held on Sunday, August, 25 with the free BBQ dinner being served at 5:30 pm. The outdoor concert will begin at 6:30 pm. The free meal will be provided by the church and its members and will feature smoked brisket, pulled pork, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Mt. Olivet UMC is located just west of the 18 Wheeler Restaurant on Route 6 in Taylor, MO. Weather permitting both the dinner and the concert will be held in the pavilion located behind the church. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Don and Donna Mohl had this to say when asked about their style of music: “Our music is a blend of mountain style and folk style gospel. We play traditional and Biblical instruments such as the bowed psaltery, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, mandolin, zither, guitar, and harmonica.” Thanks Carolyn Carpenter for taking care of the publicity for this event!
