Anyone who pays attention to what I post knows that I post life, - TopicsExpress

Anyone who pays attention to what I post knows that I post life, the things that are important to me, my passions; things Ive learned through personal study; and the stuff of life, what Im going through at the moment. When I started my facebook page 4 years ago via the encouragement of a friend I really didnt want to do social media at all, but decided if it could be used for some good then there would be something redemptive in it. Well, heres something that might be of interest to women. Im 45 and like you have lived with hormones all my life. For me theres been no big issues, but the last couple of years Ive had these unexplained headaches, sometimes ones that leave me pretty much worthless for the day. They seemed to some once a month, but not always and linger for 2 to 3 days. Friends and family urged me to go to the doctor. Ive seen what doctors do with those who deal with headaches, all the tests, the scans and then usually 3 options, hormone replacement if thats the cause, bad stuff just research its connection to Cancer. Then the dreaded pain pills, like I want to be walking zombie through life those days or third option, just deal with it. I surely dont need to spend thousands of dollars for those 3 options for I know I can do better on my own for far less dollars, not to mention the waste of my time. So I started keeping a journal, suspicious that hormones might be the issue. What I found is that my headaches are cyclical, but I also learned more. The better nutrition choices I made in a month along with regular exercise, resulted in no headache at all the entire month. Did you know that nutrition is one of your best defenses against hormonal imbalance? As well it strengthens your immune system so that it can fight off disease. Theres more, regular exercise also serves to help with keeping hormones balanced and strengthening your immune system. The worst enemy there is against hormone balance and a healthy immune system is sugar. Along with poor nutrition and a sedentary lifestyle, all three work together compounding our health issues. I encourage you, do your own research. A doctor might give you 10 minutes in your appointment and my experience has been when I mention healing the body through nutrition, natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals, if theyre listening at all, their eyes glaze over and theyll comment something to this effect, If you believe that stuff works...chuckle...chuckle. Well, Im happy to say Im pharma free and intend on staying that way for a long time to come. And with Obamacare the new healthcare Im more certain than ever, my mantra of taking personal responsibility for my health and the health of my family will be the path that is continued. blogs.discovery/dfh-sara-novak/2012/02/6-ways-your-diet-can-impact-your-mood.html
