Apologies for not having updated you all for the last few months ! So what is happening : basically we are still waiting to hear if the very dangerous situation where cars are still allowed to park on the play park area is going to be resolved . I personally think we cant go ahead unless this has been dealt with . Secondly apparently our plans are to ambitious ! This means that for know we are concentrating on : 1. A request has been made to Cornwall Council to close off the area of the Basketball Court currently used for overflow parking. 2. A bid for funding will be applied for to cover Stage 1 of the playground improvement scheme. 3. Stage 1 will consist of: a concrete table-tennis table in the park in front of the Butterfly Garden. A multi-use court that will have basketball and football nets at both ends and be marked out to accommodate both sports plus volleyball and tennis. 4. There will be 3 ramps for skate boarding and cycling within the area. 5. An area up to 3 metres in front of the electricity sub-station will be resurfaced which will allow vehicular access to the sub-station. A strip 3 metres wide will be allowed at the other end of the court to allow essential vehicles to drive into the park. This will be discussed at the parish meeting tonight . Hopefully we will be able to give you some good news soon and we can finally start going forward with this project. Ps we havent given up about the other stages of improvement ! Which are just as or even more important . The small play park is not safe and unfriendly to children who are less mobile . I will try and keep the faith that something will happen ! marielle
