Applying for the MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination Please note that the application form has been updated. Candidates now need to inform us of whether they are in a UK specialty training programme, the training post and level of training and the deanery at the time of the examination. Candidates with constraints on their practice Candidates who have been erased from the General Medical Council (GMC) register (or equivalent) for reasons related to fitness to practice are not permitted entry to any MRCP(UK) Examination. Candidates who have been suspended from the GMC (or equivalent) register are not permitted entry to any MRCP(UK) Examination for the duration of the suspension. Candidates who are subject to any warning, interim orders, undertakings or conditions on their practice from the GMC (or equivalent body) must submit a completed MRCP(UK) and Specialty Certificate Examinations Candidate Declaration Form with each application. Permission to enter any MRCP(UK) Examination will be at the discretion of the MRCP(UK) Medical Director. Applying online Candidates may apply online to sit the MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination at all UK centres and most overseas centres. The online application service is accessible through the online account My MRCP(UK). Note: Online applicants may be required to submit additional documentary evidence (e.g. primary medical qualification) and/or payment to complete their online application. Submitting a paper application Candidates who are unable to apply online should download and complete the following application form/s. The completed application should be submitted to the relevant Administration Office. All candidates are asked to note that Forms A and B were updated on 13 April 2012. Candidates must ensure that they use the new version of the application forms. Form A is to be used for: All MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination candidates who are applying for the first time. All MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination candidates who are re-applying to sit the exam after the seven-year time limit. Form B is to be used for: All MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination candidates who are applying for the first time (along with Form A). All MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination candidates who are re-applying to sit the exam. Prior to submitting an application, we strongly advise all candidates to obtain and familiarise themselves with the current version of the MRCP(UK) Examination Regulations, which includes full information regarding eligibility requirements as well as the conduct, format and content of the MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination. Checklist for submitting a paper application For first time entry send: Form A Form B Diploma of Primary Medical Qualification (original or attested copy only - see the MRCP(UK) Examination Regulations on how to authenticate a copy of your diploma correctly) or UK General Medical Council (GMC) Registration number. Fee in Sterling (please check current amount) MRCP(UK) and Specialty Certificate Examinations Candidate Declaration Form (if applicable) For re-entry send: Form B Fee in Sterling (please check current amount) MRCP(UK) and Specialty Certificate Examinations Candidate Declaration Form (if applicable) Candidates should check carefully that they have enclosed all relevant documentation before sending their applications. Applications which are not complete in every detail may be rejected but candidates will still be liable to pay the examination fee. Applications that arrive after 17:00 (UK time) on the closing date will be returned. Allowances cannot be made for postal or other delays Eligibility Candidates have 7 years from the date of their passing Part 1 to complete both Part 2 Written and PACES.
