Around this time on 9/11/01 I saw the first plane fly over NYU (Silver Center/CAS building), Washington Square Park and hoped that it was flying to Newark for an emergency landing. I remember feeling the whole block shake - and the rattle of the engine setting off car alarms on Waverly, Mercer, and all around. As you know for college kids, 8:15 am is very early so no one was around - making the scene all the more surreal. That day changed everything. While I was spared of working in Tower 1 that morning, many others were not so fortunate. We shall never forget, and forever pursue peace by all means necessary. Thank you to all emergency responders - Fire Fighters, Police, Public Works, Dispatchers - and my prayers go out to all friends and family who lost loved ones on this infamous day.
