As Athletes we are constantly challenging ourselves to be better--we are always seeking ways to improve! Being an X-athlete does not make you any different...just bc you arent on the field or court anymore, does not mean that you shouldnt be striving to always be the best version of you! ______________________________ It also does not mean that we dont incur setbacks! On my recent quest to train for my 1st triathlon, I incurred a number of injuries (mostly in my legs--my strongest area). After seeking professional advice, I found that all the muscle mass I had developed from heavy weight-lifting over the past couple years was causing these injuries bc my body couldnt take the constant pounding. So, I was given a choice--continue to build mass or compete in the tri!! ______________________________As a natural competitor, I wanted to ignore the advice and continue to do both. But as an individual who wants to protect her body, I knew I had to make a choice. As an X-athlete, I LIVE to compete, to learn new things, to gain an athletic edge! So, it was a no-brainer to choose the road less traveled. After all, athletes are highly adaptable creatures. ______________________________ This means that my training is taking a new direction and also means that I now have some serious lbs to lose!! Over ⚡️the next 30 days⚡️I am challenging myself to incorporate a new workout style--more cardio-intensive (no, not traditional machine cardio), bodyweight and functional training to 1⃣ heal my joints & 2⃣ transform my body into a new kind of athlete!! & I WANT YOU TO JOIN ME!! It will take time, patience, persistence, & determination! Luckily, those traits run in our athletic veins! ______________________________ So, are you ready to reach your full potential, Athlete??
