As I have a deep, personal connection to ALS and the - TopicsExpress

As I have a deep, personal connection to ALS and the #ALSicebucketchallenge, I felt that I needed to help with the raising awareness portion of the challenge. I do not have a problem with the mission in spirit, but in practice I have issues. First, donating is not optional. Regardless of whether you choose to drench yourself in ice water or not, DONATE TO THE MDA NOW! (see the first link below on how to do so) Second, if you post a video, please include information on how a.) this disease has impacted your life personally b.) ACCURATE information on what this terrible disease is and does, or c.) a reference to the MDA or ALSA websites for people to get their own information. I am perfectly willing to accept the challenge to those who nominate me, but my donation will come first, will be significant and meaningful, and will in fact raise awareness of this awful disease. (P.S. - those of you who attended our wedding helped to donate to this cause). ALS - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (a.k.a. Lou Gherigs Disease) - is a progressive, neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spine. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually lead to DEATH. For more information visit the following websites: mda.org/disease/amyotrophic-lateral-sclerosis alsa.org/about-als/what-is-als.html ninds.nih.gov/disorders/amyotrophiclateralsclerosis/detail_ALS.htm You can also sponsor a TEAM MOMENTUM participant in one of their upcoming races, or better yet, add the cost of the ice to your donation to the MDA. Thank you in advance for your help in finding a treatment for this deadly and heartbreaking disease.
