As I predicted, theres not a muscle on me that isnt sore today, ha ha. Im covered in scratches and bruises, and I had to ice one of my knees last night. Only in the Tough Mudder do you pay to torture yourself - like having to jump into a huge vat of ice water and then dive under the wall in the middle to the other side, as your body shuts down from the intense coldness of it (that was truly the worst one, in my opinion), or maneuvering through a course of shock wires where you have to jump over bales of hay - and Im not gonna lie, those shocks hurt like a mother! We had to scale lots of walls with hardly any foot holds, crawl through tunnels, sludge through mud mines, jump off towers into really cold water, run with weighted bags on our shoulders, run up an American ninja warrior type wall, called Everest, tackle inclined monkey bars, etc, etc, etc...to name a few, whilst having to run about 10-11- ish miles in between it all. It sure does test your strength, endurance, and mental toughness to the brink! But, there is a great sense of comradery at the Mudder. Everyone helps everyone else complete the challenges. We had strangers help us when we needed it, and all through the courses everyone was helping each other out. It was truly awesome! Everyone was so friendly. It wasnt about competition, but about testing your own strength and endurance, and helping each other through team work. I intend to do this race again when it comes back, and I highly recommend it!
