As I sit here drinking my morning tea, trying to organize a fantasy baseball league, I cant help but think about my brother, Steve. I know. Some people may think fantasy sports is juvenile, but it was something we had done together since the beginning of the internet, something we were always passionate about. Steve was one of my only friends that loved baseball as much as I did, probably more. He loved his Cubbies! I remember a year ago, the night before he past, we were arguing about the league rules. It was a fun, light-hearted argument, like we always had. But, this time it was different. It was the last time I would ever talk to my best friend. I heard something interesting on an episode of House of cards last week. Someone had said to a character that just lost someone close to them. Grief is ALWAYS looking for an answer, but sometimes, there isnt one. Even though it was just some guy on some TV show, it made me think about you Steve. A year later and I am still looking for the answer as to why the hell you are gone so soon. An answer, I may never find. As to why you were here? Now that answer is easy! You made me and everyone around you a better person. Your laugh, your smile, your sense of humor, your opinion, your intellect and of course, your LOVE for life, your friends, your family, your parents, Sarah and the boys, were second to none. You never looked at the faults or negativity in me, or others, just the possibility of greatness. Ill stop by for a visit later today, to talk a little baseball and have a shot of Havana Club with you. Love you and miss you my friend...always.
