As I take a short break and eat my lunch, Ive read two articles about celebrities who have stepped out of social media for a bit due to mean, hurtful, and downright cruel posts or tweets. I know these people live in the spotlight but is it really fair that we vilify them in such a personal way via social media? Tony Stewart being called a murderous monster is no more appropriate than saying Kevin Ward deserved to die for getting out if his car and running out into the track. This was a horrible accident. The police and DA are in investigating and its their job to figure this out. Lets let them do that. And Robin Williams daughter, Zelda, being harassed for posting a tribute to her dad. Ive seen some cold messages about how dare we mourn a comedian when we have soldiers dying in the Middle East. Say what you will but this man supported the USO and our soldiers more than many in the entertainment industry. He was idolized by many, an icon of entertainment. Harassing his grieving daughter is disgusting and gravely disappointing of our society. People, ALL people, have feelings. Maybe America needs to work on mutual respect for one anothers feelings - not political correctness, but simple acceptance and respect of peoples feelings - instead of being such vile excuses for humanity. Rant over.....
