As many people have heard me say this summer, I have grown weary - TopicsExpress

As many people have heard me say this summer, I have grown weary of politics and philosophy. I have left all political pages with the exception of one Christian page and no longer moderate on any. However, to make it clear for those (if any) who might be curious, I thought I would post this brief note regarding where I am today as this is probably where I will be politically for the rest of my life. After several years and many hundreds of hours of research, debate, and prayer, my worldview is far more complex than it once was and yet, it is far more simplified. On the macro scale, I am a nationalist in that I am a citizen of the kingdom of God, which is a nation of priests. I oppose the existence of the mega state and empire and believe that these states are arrogant and evil attempts of man to be “as God,” which is why they always fail. They are not "human scale." While I claimed to be an "anarchist" once, I have rejected that term, as it is a "thing" that does not, and cannot, exist in our universe. Hierarchy is natural. It just is. Nevertheless, only God has the power and the ability to govern on the "grand" scale and to do so, justly. We do not. On the micro scale, I am a tribalist whose tribe is the local church. On the family scale I am a "type" of patriarchist, though this is not really the best way to describe it (perhaps I will elaborate on this another time). As for law and government: I like natural law and support negative law as a foundation for a legal system and enforced on the tribal level. I support social sanctions, which can include exclusion and ostracism, for non-violent violations of social norms. I support the right of contract and the right of the freedom of association including both inclusion and exclusion. This means, of course, that borders are inevitable. My ethics are deontological; however, I believe they can only be fully realized through the practice of a Christian virtue ethic and I remain a social conservative. Finally, while I oppose the wars of the mega state, and am opposed to modern wars, I am not a pacifist and I support a very strict "Christian, just war theory." In short, I am not a statist, libertarian, anarchist, conservative, liberal, capitalist, socialist, feminist, patriarchist, pacifist, or warmonger. What I am is merely Christian.
