Kashiwa Reysol – Ajinomoto Stadium, Saturday 4pm (LIVE!) FC Tokyo stretched their unbeaten run to 13 games on Tuesday as Hiroki Kawano, Edu, Yoshinori Muto, and Kazuma Watanabe all struck in a 4-0 trouncing of Tokushima Vortis. Shimizu S-Pulse – NACK5 Stadium, Saturday 6pm Omiya’s mini-revival was stopped in its tracks in the last round, and a late own goal wasn’t enough to take any points at home to Kawasaki Frontale as they lost 3-1. S-Pulse are plummeting down the table, and their 3-0 defeat to Gamba Osaka in midweek leaves them just two points outside the relegation zone. Can Omiya win and leapfrog their guests here? Gamba Osaka v. Sagan Tosu – Banpaku Stadium, Saturday 6pm Gamba are J1’s form team right now and confidently swept Shimizu S-Pulse aside on Tuesday; Takashi Usami, Daiki Niwa, and Lins all registering in a 3-0 win. Tosu’s title challenge is faltering though and they lost 2-0 away to Kashiwa Reysol last time out. Can they get back on track with a big three points in Osaka? Tokushima Vortis v. Kashima Antlers – Naruto Otsuka Pocari Sweat Stadium, Saturday 7pm Vortis are now 13 points from safety – and only have 12 to their name all season – after a 4-0 defeat away to FC Tokyo in the last round. Antlers ground out their third 1-0 win in their last six games in midweek though, Shoma Doi’s goal claiming the three points against Vegalta Sendai. Can they keep their title challenge alive with another victory in Shikoku? Kawasaki Frontale v. Vegalta Sendai – Todoroki Stadium, Saturday 7pm Yoshito Okubo demonstrated his worth to Frontale by returning from suspension and scoring a hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Omiya Ardija in Round 25. Vegalta are slipping closer and closer to the relegation zone though and lost 1-0 at home to Kashima Antlers in midweek – their fifth straight defeat. Can they earn an unlikely reprieve from this clash? Cerezo Osaka v. Urawa Reds – Yanmar Stadium, Saturday 7pm (LIVE!) A late goal from Cacau wasn’t enough to salvage any points for Cerezo on Tuesday, and they remain in the relegation zone after losing 2-1 at home to Nagoya Grampus. Urawa are unbeaten in six and have scored 17 goals in their last five games, though, most recently downing Albirex Niigata 2-0 thanks to Shinzo Koroki and Ryota Moriwaki’s goals. Will they be able to extend their lead at the top of J1 here? Nagoya Grampus v. Albirex Niigata – Mizuho Athletics Stadium, Saturday 7:30pm Grampus are unbeaten in six and have won their last three after Kengo Kawamata’s strike and an own goal secured a 2-1 win away to Cerezo Osaka in midweek. Albirex have won just one of their last five though and went down 2-0 at home to Urawa Reds in Round 25. Can they improve upon that record in Nagoya this Saturday?
