>>Ashesh Jain, member of the team and graduate student at CU said : “In general, the idea is that when a robot has to use such objects in the presence of humans or the robot needs to move a cup of hot tea near humans, how should it learn? How will it understand that it should not poke you with a knife?” The team is perfecting a system for improving on the robot’s motions by having the robot nearly stab a person with a knife. The reasoning of the researchers is that by teaching a robot to stab a human with a knife, they can figure out how to teach it not to stab a human. This circular reasoning begs the obvious question: How much control does the team have over the robot?
