Asif geared-up to defend IBSF World Snooker crown in Lativa PDF Print E-mail KARACHI, Nov 25 (APP): Reigning Champion Muhammad Asif was geared-up to defend his title in the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) WorlD snooker Championship being staged in Riga (Latvia). “I am not feeling any pressure and looking forward to give my best to retain the title for my beloved Pakistan,” he said on Monday as team prepare to fly out to Lativa on Tuesday morning. “We got strong team in Sajjad, Imran and Shahid and we hope to give our best in the global event,” he said. “As we leaving a day after our 4th ranking event and all are cueists are well prepared are in good match practice,” 32-year-old Asif, who rose to fame by winning the world title in Bulgaria (Romania) said. “My confidence is high after good year having won the 6-Red Asian title and World Team Snooker title with Sajjad in Ireland,” he commented. He said definitely with Sajjad for the rewards from the federal as provincial governments for the excellence as per Pakistan Sports Board policy. “But despite not getting deserved rewards, we will keep working hard to bring honour and glory for Pakistan in international arena,” confident Asif from Faisalabad said. In the meantime German Embassy granted visas to the team and officials. IBSF Women, Masters and Men Team Snooker Championship will be held in Riga from November 27 to December 8. Pakistan team included Muhammad Asif, Shahid Aftab Imran Shahzad and Muhammad Sajjad-all from Punjab. Wahid Qadir is the manager of the team.
