Assalam Aalaikum Jumm’ah Kareem The Prophet (pbuh) said, "That which differentiates us from the disbelievers and hypocrites is our performance of Salat. He who abandons it, becomes a disbeliever. The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Quran) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone) [8:2] The Prophet (pbuh) said : ‘When you raise your head from prostration, do not squat like a dog. Put your buttocks between your feet and let the tops of your feet touch the ground. The Prophet (pbuh) prohibited buying and selling in the masjid, announcing aloud about a lost thing, the recitation of a poem in it, and prohibited sitting in a circle (in the masjid) on Friday before the prayer. The Iqaamah itself is a final signal to the mind to be well prepared for performing the actual Salat. Remember what The Prophet (pbuh) said to Bilal (ra) “Let us enjoy the comfort of the Salat.” When you stand facing the Qiblah remember the following:a. It might be the last Salat in your life. There is no guarantee to live longer to catch the next Salat.b. You are standing between the hands of Allah, the Lord of the worlds. How can you be busy with something else?c. The angel of death is chasing you. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Five prayers which Allah has made obligatory. Whoever does wudoo’ properly for them, prays them on time, does rukoo’ properly and has perfect khushoo’, it is a promise from Allah that he will be forgiven, but whoever does not do this, has no such promise – if Allah wishes, He will forgive him, and if He wishes, He will punish him.” And they fall down on their faces weeping and it adds to their humility [khushoo’] [17:109]. The Prophet (pbuh) said: The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating himself, so make supplication (in this state) The Prophet (pbuh) said: When the iqamah is pronounced for prayer, no prayer is valid except the obligatory prayer.
