At Least 1 Dead After Car Rams Jerusalem Train Platform in Apparent Terror Attack Fox News (11/05/14) One person was killed and at least five others injured Wednesday in an East Jerusalem car crash that authorities believe was a terrorist attack. A man drove a car into a crowd on a light rail platform, hitting the platform and other cars before trying to flee. Officials report that the driver attacked a group of police officers with a crowbar before police fatally shot him. The attack took place amid months of almost daily clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli police in East Jerusalem, largely due to tensions between Muslims and the Jewish people over a site they call the Noble Sanctuary and Temple Mount, respectively. A planned visit to Jerusalem by supporters of Yehuda Glick, who is campaigning to expand Jewish prayer rights on the contested complex, is adding to the tensions that may have led to the deliberate car crash. Muslims interpret Jewish prayer at the complex to be a provocative action.
