At PAWS Animal Shelter, we see the Good the Bad and the Ugly... And sometimes we see the Good go Full Circle. Today was one of those times...and makes me thankful that the shelter is there. ( If you dont already, please donate ot volunteer at. THIS shelter) The owner of this Elder Dog no longer wanted him, (sometime last week (?) ) drove him into the woods out side of Sherwood and left him. The dog waited along the road, and was (most likely) hit by a car. (he hurts and he had a long gash on one of his back legs). Who knows how long he was there before man, living nearby, heard the old boy crying for help. When he found the dog, he was exhausted, tangled in a blackberry bramble and surrounded by a pack of coyotes. The man took him to their vet who, guessed his age to be 9 or 10 and have him something for the wound. Some time later....a woman answered the fly the man had posted. She said the dog belonged to her cousin...and she knew someone who might want him. ... But, No One Did... until they asked PAWS volunteer Donna Galvin.... And she brought him to PAWS. But WAIT... The story doesnt stop there. The man, wanting to know the dog was safe and being care for, called the shelter. I liked him (and his wife) very much on the phone. Tomorrow, they are signing up to be the Elder Dogs foster parents ((
