Atmore man killed in accident Jacob Lisenby, 29, of Atmore, was killed in an accident Saturday, March 08, at 1:08 p.m. on Highway 29 south of Well Line Road in Escambia County, Fla. According to the report released by Florida Highway Patrol, Mary O. Simpkins, 69, Cantonment, driving a 1987 Chevy van, was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of SR 95 traveling west from the Grocery Advantage parking lot. Lisenby, driving a 1999 Honda motorcycle, was northbound on SR 95 in the left lane, According to the trooper’s report, Lisenby was traveling at a high rate of speed when he saw the van in his path. Lisenby attempted to stop the motorcycle by laying it on the pavement but was unable to stop before colliding with the left side of the van in the left northbound of SR 95. Simpkins sustained minor injuries. Lisenby was pronounced deceased at the scene by Escambia County EMS.
