August 1, 2015 - February 30, 2015 September 15, 2015 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10 Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience. Colossians 1:11 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 1 Peter 3:8 September 15, 2015 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. TRUST IN HIM. Our lives should consist of speaking to God and listening for His reply. We should be seeking His advice, wisdom, and guidance for everything in our lives. It would keep us out of a whole bunch of trouble if we would. Plus, without this mindset, we miss the sweetness of being close to the One who loves us and longs to speak truths to our minds and hearts. God is able to see every detail of our life. Nothing is hidden from God’s sight, and to Him our road ahead is clearly visible. I’m learning that when things don’t work out the way I would have wanted, there is a greater plan in the future. The focus has to be taken off my doubts and placed on a promised word from God. His words in Jeremiah 29:11 are straightforward - For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. The eyes of faith are not always looking at the natural, the eyes of faith look out and they see the good, and they focus on the positive, and the eyes of faith are going to continue to trust God in everything. No matter how bleak today may look there is always change on the horizon for those of us who have the faith to believe. Habakkuk learned how to trust God and not be affected by the negative stuff going on around him. He writes in Habakkuk 3:17-19 - Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments. You and I have to come to the place where we trust God completely and allow Him the freedom to point us in the right direction. Not only do we have to trust Him, we have to remember that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. TRUST IN HIM. Philippians 4:19 tells us - And my God will supply all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. If today you are struggling and frightened, turn to Him in prayer and tell Him precisely what you are needing; not that He doesn’t know, but He loves your voice and you and wants you to feel that warm, safe feeling of leaning in on Him. Matthew 6:31-33 tells us - Do not worry then, saying, What will we eat? or What will we drink? or What will we wear for clothing? For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen.” One day sitting my kitchen table years ago, my uncle Beach talking to my husband opened the Bible and took me and him to Proverbs 3:5-6 which tells me - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. You see my uncle not only quoted this Scripture but he lived it. Just as my aunt Pearlie would always tell me that God is still on the throne and He is in control - to not worry for He will never put more on you than you can bear and that He will always keep His Word for He is faithful and again she not only said these words to me but she lived these words. If we can just learn to trust God He will direct our paths. When disappointments come and we keep on trusting, He will secure the direction of our lives. If we trust Him God will get us where we’re supposed to go. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. TRUST IN HIM. There comes a time when we just have to trust God. Not with a blind faith, but a faith built on a solid foundation; a faith with roots going down deep into our being. A place where our primal fears and apprehension lie colliding with our seemingly logic and assumptions. When everything in us says, “Run, hide, quit, fight or give in,” God shows up and we have to choose. David had to make a choice and he chose God. He may have been afraid but he said, “But I am trusting.” He may have had advice that was contrary but he said, “But I am trusting.” His back was against the wall, all human hope exhausted yet he said, “But I am trusting!” Today, let go. Hear God’s voice, see His amazing love and power for you and say with David, “But I am trusting you, O LORD – You are my God! My future is in your hands.” When you trust in the Lord, youll feel as if the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders. The pressures off you now and on God, and He can handle it perfectly. God will make something beautiful of your life, but He needs your trust in Him to do it. Are you ready? The time to start is today, right now. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. TRUST IN HIM.
