August 17, 2013 Saturday, 19th Week in Ordinary Time Lord, grant me a childlike spirit as I seek to obey Your voice and humbly follow Your holy will. Heal my sinful condition and transform me into Your likeness by the power of Your grace that I may live my Christian life with more authenticity. Teach me to be faithful in carrying out my commitment as a parent or elder as I strive to draw others closer to You by my life’s witness. Teach me to be open to receive Your blessings by letting go of my spirit of independence and self-importance, so that I may always be willing to rely on You and Your providence. Grant that I may never be an obstacle to anyone who wishes to receive Your blessing and healing touch. Help me to be confident that You will send me the grace I need to persevere in carrying out my mission of spreading Your Word effectively for Your greater honor and glory. And as I grow with age, grant that I may never lose that childlike simplicity and humility that draws me into Your loving presence. Amen Based on Today’s Gospel: Matthew 19:13-15
