OVERNIGHT MARKETS US Equities Index/Security Close Chg %Chg Dow Jones (US) 15179.85 +109.67 +0.73 S&P 500 1639.04 +12.31 +0.76 NASDAQ 3452.13 +28.57 +0.83 US sharemarkets rallied on Monday but ended off their highs as the upbeat economic data added to concerns the US Fed may hint at tapering stimulus at its meeting this week. The boost in home builder sentiment supported housing stocks with the PHLX housing index rising by 2.6pct. Netflix jumped 7.1pct after it signed a multi-year deal for programming from DreamWorks Animation. The Dow Jones rose by almost 110pts or 0.7pct with the S&P 500 up by 0.8pct while the Nasdaq gained 29pts or 0.8pct.
