Autumn time in Japan means lots of small festivals all over the Aomori prefecture. The Oirase Shimoda Festival will be Saturday & Sunday. On Sunday you might want to head out to the Nanbu Folk Songs and Dance Competition and go apple, grape or pear picking. The Yosakoi Dream Festival will also be held in Towada on Sunday! For those more active: you can hike up to the Autumn colors in the mountains or participate in the Japanese/American bike ride & BBQ at Lake Towada on Sunday. Take some time to experience the seasonal flavors of Aomori Prefecture.
