BASIL: IMPLEMENT CoI FINDINGS By: Gabriel Bego The Opposition has issued a challenge to the Government to implement the recommendations and findings of various investigations and Commission of Inquiry reports since 1975. Deputy Opposition Leader Sam Basil issued the challenge, following Prime Minister Peter ONeills statement at the Leaders Summit on Monday, on accelerating implementation of government services in the country. The announcement of 40 billion being lost over the past years since independence until now, is an insult to the former prime minister serving in the government benches. I really think, the prime minister of Papua New Guinea now, Peter ONeil, is a wolf in sheep skin. He should be telling Papua New Guineans how hes gonna fight corruption but before he does that, he must go and prosecute all public accounts committees recommendations, all commission of enquiry recommendations and all the outstanding corruption issues that Papua New Guineans are witnessing today. Im calling on him to pave the way clear so that acceleration can be made. There are so many obstacles, Mr. Basil said.
