BCSW Second Call Map A HISTORIC Winter Storm is coming. As we been saying the first part of the storm the clipper will bring upwards of 1-4 across the area. Now get ready for the BOOM The NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS UPGRADED Buck County to a WINTER STORM WARNING: WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON MONDAY TO 6 PM EST TUESDAY TIMING: Snow develops between midnight and 5am then continues through the day. The snow is expected to become HEAVY at times Late Monday Afternoon through Tuesday mid morning. We will see rates over 1/hr. Storm is supposed to taper off Tuesday evening. IMPACTS: Some impacts on the Monday Morning Commute, then SIGNIFICANT and Widespread impacts thereafter. Areas of Blowing and drifting snow will add to the hazardous conditions. WINDS: Northeast 10-15MPS with guest to 20mph on Monday, then 15-25mph and gusts over 30 on Tuesday. * TEMPERATURES: Ranging from Mid 20s to low 30s on Monday. Then dropping into the Low-Mid 20s on Monday night and Tuesday * VISIBILITIES: Will be less than 1/4 mile at times. We Also have a photo of the current Watches and warnings across the area. As you can see there are Storm watches to Hurricane Wind Warnings. This will be is one POWERFUL STORM. BE PREPARED for the following: -Road Closures -State of Emergencies should be issued tomorrow. - Schools should be closed on Tuesday -This will be an i95 shutdown from Philly North. - If you are flying out of TTN, PHL or ABE. Check with your airline before leaving. As well any other airports up the east coast. Also plan for massive delays with SEPTA. As power outages are very likely make sure you have flashlights, batteries, water supply, and non perishable foods. Also if you have a NOAA Weather Radio make sure it has batteries. Lookout after the storm: We will see some of the coldest air of the year. We are also seeing a few other storms on the long range models, but we will worry about them at a later time. This is going to be the biggest snow storm we have had in a while. Remember to check on the elderly, disabled and if you have a snow blower assist your neighbors. If you have fire hydrants on your property SHOVEL THEM OUT. Seconds Matter when during an emergency. Starting tomorrow afternoon expect to see updates from the storm.
