BEST OF THE BEST – Day 18: Rebecca Morris opened WildCard on Butler Street in Lawrenceville in October of 2009, and it quickly became a neighborhood fixture. They represent many different artists and crafters both locally and across the U.S., selling a surprisingly wide variety of greeting cards and gifts. Eclectic and funky, Wildcard offers an intriguing mix of goods including jewelry, books, accessories, original art, art prints and more. They also have a unique selection of Pittsburgh-themed items, including their popular t-shirt collection. Wildcard also has artist and group shows (like the recent CRAFT HARD: ART INSPIRED BY ACTION MOVIES!), and beginning this month they – and a number of other Lawrenceville businesses – will be open ‘til 9PM every 2nd Thursday of the month. So Mark August 8th on your calendars, friends. Their distinctive vibe translates to what they sell. And their staff – including the ever-helpful Thea and Alicia – will always have your back and help you find what you need. I love this place! So never again sweat out a forgotten occasion.
