BUG REPORTS Thank you to all those people who reported bugs last night (my time). As it is, I have woken to find everything all right and the problem is certain to have been with Facebook. When other apps have problems at the same time, it is either your connection or Facebook at fault; when other people have the same problem and other apps have problems at the same time, it is certain to be Facebook. When PnF users have problems and other apps do not, it is PnF, But we dont find that out unless people report what they are seeing. Unlike some other developers, I welcome bug reports. I hate even tiny little bugs. PnF is already a complex site --- there is more going on invisibly than you can imagine, because we have prepared to give you much more than just an internet game --- but as far as I can tell, our site is less often the cause of problems than Facebook. Nevertheless, if you dont say, I cant tell, so please say! When you report bugs, *please* say what browser you are using, and as much about your computer as you understand (operating system and memory size are the big things) and whether you are the only user of PnF on that computer or you share it with others. If not, we will end up having to ask you those things anyway in almost all cases, because those are the factors which can cause problems and enable us to identify how to fix them. In case anyone does not see the need for a stand alone site, there are two major reasons. One, that nothing any platform ever does will be able to destroy our community or prevent us enjoying our game ever again. Two, that when the platform (currently Facebook) has issues, the stand alone site will not. It just means one less thing to go wrong. The reasons we have not yet let you use the stand alone site are mostly two: 1) We have to enable it to work out how to handle you using IT in one browser tab and the Facebook version of our site in another. Thats technically horrible, but achievable. 2) We need a registration method which does not result in registration emails ending up in your spam folder. This is a common problem, and I think I now know an answer to it, but in computing, knowing the answer and being able to make it work are not the same thing; the latter requires time and resources. So well get there, but with 90%+ of the programming being done by me, it takes much longer than I would like. I am truly sorry, because it exasperates me to no end to be able to conceive of ideas and not have the time to make them work. I need paid staff. But first, lets build a community big enough to give them a living :) https://pets-n-friends/images/petsnfriends/us_robots.jpg
