Background The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operating in the Middle East for over a decade, running a combination of emergency, livelihood, protection and advocacy programmes. In addition to the new Jordan programme, DRC has significant programmes in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria and a Regional Office in Amman, all working on issues related to Iraqi or Syrian displacement, as well as Palestinian and Migration issues. DRC currently operates large programmes in support of Syrian displaced in both Syria and Lebanon and, following the signing of an MoU with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), is now providing similar services to Syrians currently in Jordan. JHCO is a partner of the Danish Refugee Council through which DRC channel its response to the Syrian crisis in Jordan. Currently 544,374 Syrians have either registered with UNHCR in Jordan or are waiting to do so. DRC is responding through a holistic approach to the Syrian crisis; recognizing the need to increase protection and self-reliance amongst the population whilst reducing the impact on the hosting communities. Scope The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is looking for a Data and Information Officer (DIO) to manage data and information management as part of cash assistance projects implemented by DRC and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO). This will include the supervision information collection and data management for two DRC centers in Jordan. The DIO will work closely with the Grants Officer, Project Managers and Emergency Manager. The DIM will also work with DRC’s Coordination and Referrals Manager and Grants Officer. Duties Information Technology Design and implement of android-based case registration and assessment; Ensure the functionality of the android application; proper information storage and reliable back-export functionalities; Update assessment forms based of input from program staff in a timely manner; Provide input and feedback on information needs as related to registration and assessment forms; Oversee the improvement and upgrading for existing information and IT systems and structures. Information Management Train Project Managers and Case Managers on proper use of Android tablets and information entry; Maintain the database of information collected through assessments and evaluations using Android applications and report any errors or shortcomings; Review data entry, ensure accuracy, and trouble-shoot problems as they arise; Review information collected and disaggregate data; Coordinate data reporting by team members to ensure the completeness of data which includes supervising the preparation of the updated lists and reporting forms as well as ensuring that each team member submits relevant information; Assist in the design and development of follow-up assessment and impact forms; Support Grants Officer in synthesizing data and information from the field; Work with Emergency Manager, Project Managers, Coordination and Referral Manager, and Grants Officer to prepare reports based on data collected. Other Oversee IT needs in different DRC offices and work closely with suppliers/ contractors to make sure they are met; Undertake other duties as required. Qualifications Essential: At least 3 years’ experience in IT and information collection and management; Solid experience in Android application development and database management; Experience in social work; Experience working with an NGO (strongly preferred); Proven information management experience; Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is a must. Personal: Humanitarian motivation; Strong sense of responsibility; Patience; Strong problem-solving skills; Interested in and willing to take on new responsibilities and tasks; Ability to work independently while at the same time cooperating with other staff members in a participatory manner. Conditions Availability: One Month Duty station: Amman, Jordan with regular travel to field offices in Amman, Karak, and Ma’an.
