Balcony thoughts... Ive been challenged to do the ALS Challenge - TopicsExpress

Balcony thoughts... Ive been challenged to do the ALS Challenge numerous of times... I believe ALS has now raised over 20 million dollars for research..... My estimate could be wrong.... I think thats all great.. Even kind of cool to see the sprits of well known celebrities, hall of fame athletes, etc participating in the ALS Challenge... Its cool to see all of these A-list people who have actively gotten behind this cause by posting videos on their social media sites to hundreds, thousands even millions of followers/fans... $20 million dollars may seem like a lot of money to some of you, but if you even bothered to actual visit the website, you would see only 7% of the earnings go to the actual research for ALS, while 18% goes to basically the pockets of people involved in the company... In my eyes, thats pathetic.... Ive seen numerous of people post these videos, but I dont believe more then 5 people have even mentioned in their videos how or where to actually donate money for the ALS research.... Shout out to Charlie Sheen and Bill Gates and a few well known people for doing the ALS Challenge, whether it be pouring a bucket of water on their heads but also sharing information about ALS and how to donate... All those other celebrities really just poured water over their heads, called out three or more random people, without even discussing what everything was about, or even telling you where to donate... It seemed more of a excuse to be in the spot light, a excuse to be the center of attention.. Which set fire to the entire social media world of more people just pouring water on their heads, not even concerned with donating.. It was either do the ice bucket challenge or donate.... Dont get me wrong.... I know some celebrities did the challenge and also donated money.. I just believe that if more celebrities would have spent more time on their videos, addressing the cause, giving out value to people, it would have made a better impact, hundreds of millions of dollars might have been raised, since they have the more influence/power on people through social media..... alsa.org/donate
