Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; O Lord, make haste to help - TopicsExpress

Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; O Lord, make haste to help me!--Psalm 40:13 Here’s an interesting thought: God is pleased to deliver you. Wrap your mind around that thought for the day. Meditate on what pleases the Lord: delivering you. “But, I haven’t been a good person; I haven’t followed all of the rules.” Deliverance isn’t based on your goodness; it is based on His goodness. God isn’t looking at your situation and waiting for you to get it together before He shows up. If He did that, there would be no need for a Savior. God is ready, willing, and able to save you right now, today. If you’re suffering, sick, poor, destitute, sad, miserable, lonely, whatever it is, God is pleased to be your Deliverer. You have been given the right, through the blood of Christ, to go straight to your heavenly Father with all of your wants, needs, and desires. Tell Him, like David did, “make haste to help me”! God has given you all things through Christ (Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?). All things! Not some, not a few, not just eternal life: all things. Jesus died so that you can be right with God and enjoy life. It pleased the Father to crush His son so that you can be delivered (Isaiah 53:10). Jesus didn’t suffer and die a horrific death on the cross so that you could live a mediocre life of lack. He died so that you can have life in abundance (John 10:10). He took sin, along with all of its curses and punishments, to His cross and conquered it. He removed all of your unrighteousness and perfected you through His blood. Remind the Lord of what pleased Him: the cross. Jesus didn’t go to the cross for His benefit; He went to the cross for your deliverance. God was pleased to send Jesus to the cross because He knew that, through Him, He would be just in delivering you. He loves you that much! Have a blessed, loved, and highly favored day!
